Yerba Buena

Yerba Buena (1350 Avenida Ashford, Condado) — Tables on the terrace are hard to come by at this Cuban restaurant, one of the busier spots in Condado. That’s fine, because the glassed-in dining room is even more comfortable and has exactly the same view. Cuban classics such as ropa vieja (“old clothes”—meat cooked so slowly that it becomes tender shreds) seamlessly complement local dishes served with imaginative presentation. The shrimp has a coconut-and-ginger sauce; the halibut fillet, one of mango and orange liqueur. The restaurant claims to use the “original” recipe for its mojito, Cuba’s tasty rum, lime, and mint drink. Live Latin music is played on Monday, Friday, and Saturday nights.
